Radial tires for automobiles consist from rubber, carbon black, other chemicals, plastics, and wires. They are manufactured by mixing additives to the main material of natural rubber or various synthetic rubber to obtain most suited performance of automobile tires, and then adding with carbon, silica, and other chemicals, and combining with tirecords as framework. Synthetic rubber is dissolved from the form of the block material, called as a bale, having the size of approx. 400mm x 200mm x 800mm, mixed with the additives and manufactured after processing formation and vulcanization. Except the tires, rubber material is used in the part of raw material for engineering plastics and resins. In addition to the dissolving process grinding process of the bale is required as pre-process to shorten the dissolving speed and ensure the uniform dissolving.

Rubber material for the various synthetic rubbers, engineering plastics, and chemicals are distributed in the form of a bale having the weight around 35kg. Such bales are dissolved or emulsified to mix with other materials, then become into intermediate product or final product. Dissolving of the rubber material in the preceding process takes time, so it is required to shorten the dissolving time by grinding the bales with the special mill for the increase of surface area of the material for getting higher solubility. By coarse-grinding, the solubility becomes stabilized and product quality becomes uniform. The Rubber Grinder is designed for coarse grinding of rubber material, as preceding process before dissolving, has been used in the market for long time.

Coarse grinding by the Rubber Grinder before dissolving of the bales

The Rubber Grinder is designed as the special mill for the rubber material, which is difficult to grind due to elastic nature. It has advantages of low revolution with high torque at the milling section, which suits to material characteristics (Fig.2). The ground rubber creates strong tendency for stickiness. Rubber Grinder is designed for quick discharging from the mill. And it has the rigid framework for continuous operation even under unforgiving conditions. It is so designed that noise, abrasion, temperature increase of grinding part are minimized. Applicable rubber material would be butadiene, isoprene, nitrile, styrene, butyl, natural rubber, recycled rubber and so on. Especially in the manufacturing process of ABS and PS plastics there are many references for shortening of the dissolving time and stabilization of the product quality.
Bale of 35kg is rather heavy for manual feeding, and due to its own elastic nature, the ground fragment will pop out from the feed inlet. To solve these problems pneumatic powered automatic bale feeder is developed. By automatic feeding work efficiency is improved therefore capacity is increased to 4t/h.
